2011 Jazz Fund-Raising Marathon: Red Beans And Rice And Peas.

This Friday, Sept 30th, from 2-4PM, we'll be joining in the 2011 Jazz Fund-Raising Marathon (listener participation is how we survive) with a show called "Red Beans And Rice And Peas": it's a two-hour celebration of how New Orleans and Jamaica are joined at the "Hip".

The Chris Blackwell interview says it all... but, we'll also be showcasing how ska and R&B, soul and rocksteady, and funk and reggae are like twins from different mothers. Plus, some New Orleans reggae bands will help fill out the bill... all for your generous donations to the station. YOU keep this kind of programming alive.
